In the game of Padel there is a law: if a right-handed player plays in a pair with a left-handed player, the left-handed player will play on the right without a shadow of a doubt. Being left-handed makes it natural to position yourself on the right side of the court because it is the best position to cover the center, hitting frequently with the forehand, just like the right-handed partner who plays on the left, having total coverage of the court both on the diagonal and along the line.
Playing against a left-handed player is never easy, because the motor patterns and game dynamics often change, but we will see why later.
Specifically, let's look at the advantages and disadvantages that can arise in playing with a left-handed partner:
- ADVANTAGES:
ATTACK . Both players can volley with their forehands, thus applying more force, limiting the opponent's defenses. This allows them to be more aggressive than the two right-handed players, thus creating more dangers.
ROTATIONS : the plays of a left-handed player are the opposite of those of a right-handed player, in fact when he plays a vibora or a smash on the walls, the spin of the ball is different than usual and this complicates the reading of those who have to defend, who are not used to it, also because some wall exits are mechanized and it is difficult to assimilate them suddenly.
- DISADVANTAGES:
KNOWLEDGE . To play with a left-handed player you need to have a certain understanding, since by habit the right-handed player will intervene very often in the central area, which will have to be shared, thus risking colliding and hindering each other involuntarily.
DEFENSE . The right-handed and left-handed attacks can be more effective, as we said before, but the risk is that of having a very strong attacking pair, but that is unbalanced and not able to defend well, resulting vulnerable.
In conclusion we can say that being a game built on dynamics similar to each other and statistically accustomed to playing with right-handed players, left-handed players are highly sought after for their unpredictability that they are able to express during exchanges.
